JEANS AND A TEE

Everyday uniform

Blue jeans and a T-shirt—that’s the foundation. The WL-T ‘First Edition’ is my take on the classic tee: simple, clean, and built to last.

Made from 220 gsm organic cotton jersey, it’s what most would call a heavyweight—but in the raw denim world, it’s the perfect middle ground. Substantial, soft, and drapes well without feeling stiff.

The fabric is knitted and sewn in northern Portugal, not far from where the jeans are made. No loopwheels here, but the construction gives it the same comfort and shape retention through wash and wear.

FIT AND SIZING

Casually modern

The cut is casual with a slight taper so it doesn’t flare at the waist. Sleeves are balanced—not cropped, not long. A ribbed crewneck finishes it off: clean, classic, and built to hold its shape.

For reference, I’m 178 cm and 75 kg (5'10" and , wearing size M. That’s my usual size in Western brands (and one up from what I need in Japanese tees).

Why white melange?

I’ve worn my share of white tees, and a fair few greys, too. This white melange blends the two: bright and versatile like white, but with just enough depth and warmth from the melange.

It works under flannels, denim shirts, or on its own. And it’s a little more forgiving day to day—spots don’t show as easily.

Below is a production WL-T 'First Edition' and a prototype—worn for three months and washed often.
